Wedding Receptions in Warrington
The WSC Function Room hosts wedding receptions for up to 160 guests at Warrington Sports Club, on Walton Lea Road just outside Stockton Heath. You get a bright room with woodland views, a dance floor and stage, a fully licensed bar, catering from buffets to sit-down meals, and free parking on site.
We host wedding receptions, not ceremonies: you marry at the church, register office or ceremony venue of your choice, then bring everyone on to us to celebrate.
Your Wedding Reception at The WSC
How many guests can the Function Room hold?
Up to 160 guests. The Function Room has floor-to-ceiling windows along two walls looking out over woodland, a separate dance floor and a raised stage for speeches or a band.
Planning something smaller? We can arrange the room for around 30 guests, so an intimate wedding doesn’t feel lost in a big space.
Is there space for a drinks reception?
Yes. The Lounge holds up to 150 guests and has full bar service, so it works well for welcome drinks while the Function Room is set for the wedding breakfast.
Both rooms are on one site, so nobody has to travel between the drinks and the meal.
What food and drink can you provide?
We offer hot and cold buffets, sit-down meals and bespoke menus, with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other dietary options on request.
There is a fully licensed bar on site. Bringing your own alcohol isn’t permitted under our licensing regulations.
Can we bring our own DJ or band?
Yes, you’re welcome to arrange your own entertainment, and we can recommend local DJs and bands if you need them. The room has a sound system and microphones for the speeches.
You can decorate the room to suit your theme. We just ask for non-damaging decorations: no nails, no tape that marks the walls, and no confetti.
Where is the venue, and is there parking?
We’re at Warrington Sports Club, Walton Lea Road, Walton, Warrington WA4 6SJ, in parkland just outside Stockton Heath, with good links to the M6, M56 and M62.
There is ample free parking on site for you and your guests. The venue has step-free access and accessible facilities; if a guest has specific needs, let us know in advance.
How much does a wedding reception cost?
Send us your date and guest numbers and we’ll come back with prices and availability. A deposit confirms your booking, and the amount depends on the event and the date.

Planning a Marquee Wedding?
Our outdoor grounds can take a marquee for a summer wedding or an open-air drinks reception. The marquee space can be hired on its own or alongside the Function Room or Lounge, and outdoor capacity depends on how the marquee is set up.
